What do we need to do to design interactive systems to make them compatible with people’s “natural” and joyful acquisition and use of information in the world? My specific focus is on the information people acquire, use and communicate about when they wayfind in physical and computer-mediated environments. I explore ways to design usable, useful and enjoyable experiences as people move through physical worlds using mobile devices and computer game worlds.
I teach computer game design which encompasses human computer interaction and experience design, socio- cultural, sensory, psychological and philosophical perspectives.
I represent Cairns campus on both School and Faculty research committees.
